Northern Moravia is one of the hidden secrets of the Czech Republic. Beautiful countryside and little foreign investment makes the area very affordable and desirable. A typical northern Moravian town, this one called Dalecin. Very peaceful and agricultural little towns. The countryside just north of Brno is quite hilly and picturesque with grain fields dotting the hillsides. Agriculture is very much a part of the economy in this area. One hour's drive north and west of Brno is the cross-country ski paradise of Nove Mesto. Over 180 kms of tracked trails and in some cases 6 to 8 tracks wide. It also boasts a small ski-hill which is pictured here. The tracks run over rolling hills and are very popular with not only those from Brno but also Prague. Small towns dot the hillside making it tempting to visit local pubs for refreshment and a warm-up. A unique Czech Republic experience. The trails and terrain make for an enjoyable playground. A beautiful heritage home on the road between Nedvedice and Pernstejn Castle. This is an example of what is available in these beautiful rural communties.
