Plzensky Prazdroj is a significant contributor to the Czech economy, having paid a total of CZK 4.7 billion in taxes during the past fiscal year, leading to the Company being again among the top 20 tax payers in the Czech Republic.
Largely through the growth in international sales, as well as through packaging innovations, the company increased its consumption of raw materials from Czech suppliers with, for example, barley purchases being up by 10% and orders on Czech packaging suppliers amounting to CZK 0,5 billion.

Stock Plzen a. s., the Czech Republic's largest spirit producer, has gained a new owner, the company Oaktree Capital Management. The transaction is still subject to approval by antitrust offices. Oaktree Capital Management agreed yesterday with the German concern Eckes AG, in whose group Stock Plzen had belonged since 1995, to take over 100 % of Stock Plzen's shares. In addition to Stock Plzen, the company Oaktree is also taking over all other units of the Eckes & Stock group, i.e. companies in Austria, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia and the U.S.A.
