Unfortunately in Czech Republic, there is a common tactic among local businesses to maximize profits short-term at the expense of the consumer. This is very common among contractors, retail stores, etc.
Here is an example I had personally involving M2 Shoes (article in Czech: “Jak M2 Shoes podvedla mě”) (www.m2shoes.cz), a shoe store in Avion Shopping Center in Brno.
It does not seem to be just a local retailer problem because when we pursued the matter the manager just shrugged her shoulders and said the assessment by their claims department was out of their control.
Hopefully Czech businesses will learn with time that the only way to build a profitable business for the long-term is to treat your customers right.
