An interview with Khuppi from our Prague real estate office regarding rentals in the Prague property market in 2012.

Nathan: Khuppi, let’s talk rental prices in Prague. What’s happened since the last time that we’ve talked? Have the prices gone up, down?

Khuppi: I think rental price in Prague still remain unchanged.

Nathan: Just stayed the same.

Khuppi: Yes.

Nathan: Okay. And that’s been across the whole city?

Khuppi: At average some places are still going up but it depend on the type of property. And I think in average I would say it’s still the same.

Nathan: Okay. And what are the biggest influences on the rental market right now that you see in Prague?

Khuppi: We are seeing some local people, property owners who own bigger of flats, offering sharing flat. It means, right now, flat sharing in Prague is more and more popular. And unemployment rates and the economic downturn is also the big issues in this case.

Nathan: Okay, so its owners want extra income from their flats so they rent out rooms and also the tenants want something cheaper.

Khuppi: Exactly. And even though they are looking for a privacy at the moment, what they can afford is flat sharing. So the owner have a big opportunity right now and they stay together and they are happy at the moment which they can afford and they can be.

Nathan: Excellent. Thanks for that insight on the market.

Khuppi: Thank you.
